The main goal of this event is to organize a dialogue between the university and professional accountants and auditors on the issues of updating educational programs based on professional standards and prospects for the development of the specialty “Accounting and Auditing”. As part of the celebration of the professional holiday of accountants, heads of professional organizations, auditors, heads of departments from other universities, representatives of the management of AlmaU, teaching staff of the School of Economics and Finance, as well as students of the EP “Accounting and Auditing” took part in the Round Table.
The guests were shown a video “A Brief History of AlmaU”. Associate professor of the School of Economics and Finance A.S. Dosmanbetova spoke at the event. with the topic “Achievements and development vectors of the EP “Accounting and Audit”.
As part of the celebration of the professional holiday of accountants, heads of professional organizations, auditors, heads of departments and teaching staff from other Universities, representatives of the management of AlmaU, teaching staff of the School of Economics and Finance, as well as students of the EP “Accounting and Auditing” took part in the Round Table.
The speakers spoke on various topical issues of the formation and improvement of the educational trajectory “Accountant-Auditor”, the requirements of employers and their satisfaction with the quality of training of university graduates, the prospects for the development of a Professional Accountant, the requirements of ACCA international accreditation, and also discussed practical topics in financial accounting: “Errors in preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS"; “Global trends in accounting and tax functions”, etc.

During the discussion, the following proposals were adopted:
• participation of representatives of professional organizations to develop professional competencies of graduates;
• pay great attention to the development of personal competencies of graduates;
• participation of enterprises in improving RUPs, the list of special disciplines and their volume in the RUP, giving more credits to special disciplines, the duration of internships at the enterprise;
• when forming the topics of graduation projects, take into account modern requirements, market demand, as well as orders from enterprises;
• provide for the use of the results of scientific works of the School teaching staff in the educational process;
• develop and implement a set of measures to intensify the work and strengthen interaction between associations of employers and the university;
• attracting practitioners to conduct guest lectures;
• strengthen the work of the alumni association.
In conclusion, the meeting participants exchanged points of view on the issues under consideration, and an opinion was expressed on the usefulness of conducting such scientific and methodological events.
