Intermediate certification of students is carried out in the form of passing exams, reports on professional practice, as well as reports on research / experimental research work (for undergraduates and doctoral students) with mandatory grading and is defined as an examination session.
For the final control, the Registrar's office enters the scores and grades accumulated by students during the academic period, indicating the admission rating, into the electronic examination sheet in the AIS "Platonus". The assessment of the rating of admission to the intermediate attestation (exam) is cumulative and consists of the assessments of the current progress control and the assessments of the midterm control (2 midterm controls during the academic period).
When conducting an intermediate attestation in an academic discipline, the grade obtained in the exam and the average score of the assessment of the current control of progress during the academic period are taken into account.
Admission to the examination session is carried out automatically in AIS "Platonus" in two stages:
1) at the first stage, students who do not have arrears in tuition fees, academic debts on prerequisites, who are not on academic leave or on long-term treatment are admitted to the examination session;
2) at the second stage, the Registrar's office provides admission to the exam in the discipline based on the admission rating, determined by the results of the current and midterm performance controls.
A student who does not have an admission rating of 60 points in a discipline is not allowed to the final control in this discipline.
The development of questions of intermediate control is carried out by the teacher who conducts classes in this discipline and is provided to students no later than two weeks before the start of the examination session.
Intermediate control (exam) is carried out in the following forms:
1) oral exam on tickets;
2) a written ticket exam;
3) examination in the form of computer testing;
4) examination in the form of written testing on paper;
5) combined examination;
6) protection of projects, presentation, cases.
The educational achievements of students are evaluated in points on a 100-point scale, in an alphabetic system with a digital equivalent (positive marks from "A" to "D", and "unsatisfactory" - "FX" and "F")

In case of receiving an “unsatisfactory” mark at the final control (exam), corresponding to the “FX” mark, the student has the opportunity to retake the final control without re-passing the program of the academic discipline on a paid basis. The cost of retaking the exam with "FX" is equal to the approved cost of 1 credit for the current academic period.
The total number of passing, including retaking the exam with "FX" or "F" in one discipline should not exceed three times:
1) the first - passing the exam;
2) the second - retake after the assessment of "FX" or re-study of the discipline, (Retake) after the assessment of "F";
3) the third - retake the exam after the assessment of "FX" or retake the exam after re-studying the discipline (Retake) after the assessment of "F". If a student receives an “unsatisfactory” grade (corresponding to the “FX” or “F” sign), then he is expelled from the University for academic failure (does not apply to the disciplines of the OOD cycle).
Retakes of the final control from the mark corresponding to the “FX” mark are allowed during the period of intermediate certification and during the holidays before the start of the next academic period.
In case of receiving an “unsatisfactory” grade corresponding to the “F” mark, the student must re-enroll in this discipline or another discipline in compliance with the principle of their profile and affinity, except for the disciplines of the mandatory component, go through its entire program, complete all tasks, receive in the prescribed manner admission to the final control, pass the final control (exam). Re-registration for an academic discipline is carried out only on a paid basis in the next academic period or in the summer semester (but not more than 15 additional credits).
Appeal Commission
For the period of the examination session (intermediate certification), by order of the Rector of the University, an appeal commission is created from among teachers whose qualifications correspond to the profile of the disciplines being appealed. A student who disagrees with the result of the final control, submits an application for appeal) no later than the next working day after the announcement of the exam grade.
The Appeals Commission must consider the application within 24 hours and make an appropriate decision on revising the assessment or maintaining the original assessment. The decision of the appeal commission is drawn up in a protocol. The last score based on the results of the appeal is recorded in the transcript and counts towards the calculation of the GPA
