About the school

The School of Economics and Finance was established in 2020 by setting apart from the Higher School of Management. The School previously existed as the Chair of Finance, Accounting and Audit.

 

The school has four educational programs:

 

- Finance (Financial Risk Management, Financial Markets and Fintech). Within the framework of the "Finance" educational program students can be awarded the following undergraduate and graduate degrees:

- Bachelor in Business and Economics,

- Master in Economics and Business (1 year of study)

- Master of Economics (2 years of study)

- PhD degree.

 

- Accounting and Auditing (in accordance with the ACCA curriculum).

Within the framework of this educational program, students can receive a Bachelor's degree in Business and Economics.

 

- Business Analytics and Economics (Business Analytics, Risk Assessment and Forecasting).

The educational program is new and was launched in 2019. However, it is based on the "Economics" program. As a specialty Economics has been taught at AlmaU since 2002. The degree to be obtained after completion of the educational program is Bachelor of Economics and business.

 

The mentioned educational programs of the School are all accredited by IQAA (Independent Agency for Quality Assurance in Education).

 

 - International Trade – The 3+1 Double Degree Program with Arizona State University (ASU).

To complete the program students study first 3 years at AlmaU, then the last year – at ASU. After  graduation,from ASU students have the right to stay to work in the USA without the need to obtain a work visa for up to 2 years (Optional Practical Training). 

 

All the programs are assigned with a license, the latest one was issued in 2014.
